The Casework Supervisor supervises and directs Case Workers who are responsible for providing assistance to newly arrived Refugees, Asylees, Parolees, Special Immigrant Visa holders, Victims of Trafficking and other humanitarian immigrants, ensuring the best possible resettlement experience and resulting in refugee self- sufficiency. This position oversees quality control for both service provision and contractual compliance. The Casework Supervisor will supervise the Central American Minors Program (CAM and the Intensive Case Management (ICM) Program. The CAM Program allows refugees and asylees to petition to bring relatives to the United States from overseas, while the ICM Program serves refuges with complex medical conditions seek the care they need to address their conditions. This position reports to the Deputy Director.
Responsibilities :
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing the implementation and management of processes and procedures to ensure compliance to all casework, CAM and ICM program requirements.
  • Overseeing the team’s daily provision of core services, delegating work assignments, and formally evaluating individuals’ performance. Actively participating in the delivery of client services as necessary.
  • Working independently in planning and developing programs to support the successful resettlement of newly arrived refugees, asylees and other immigrant populations.
  • Assessing, evaluating and reporting program and staff performance and escalating issues requiring additional attention.
  • Monitoring program execution to ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings.
  • Lead projects as assigned by the Deputy Director and/or Executive Director.
  • Provide direct client services during staff absence or as necessary to achieve program objectives.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners and service providers to create a more welcoming environment for clients served.
  • Actively participate in RFP development.
  • Complete periodic program reports.
  • Review client progress reports for accuracy prior to submission to funders or IRC Headquarters.
  • Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements :
  • A college degree in Social Work, health or a related field of study. A Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Health or related field of study is preferred.
  • The skills and knowledge typically acquired through 2-4 years of management experience with refugee and immigrant populations or in the field of human services with other populations.
  • General knowledge of US immigration laws governing refugees, political asylees and other humanitarian immigrants.
  • A demonstrated record of increasingly responsible roles in a mission and outcome driven environment.
  • Highly organized self-starter with proven success managing multiple priorities, making critical decisions and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success achieving goals and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
