IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages and delivers large, complex programs to meet the needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor and disaster affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.
Job Overview/Summary: The IRC is seeking COMPASS Coordinator to help provide interim remote technical support to the COMPASS project in Pakistan. The goals of this role are:
- To build technical capacity of the COMPASS Manager in-country and to ensure that best practices are applied.
- To work together with the COMPASS Program Coordinator (UK), COMPASS Research, Monitoring, Evaluation Manager (US) and the COMPASS Pakistan team to ensure that all key program activities are technically sound, and that monitoring data is consistently collected, analyzed and reviewed to inform program activities.
Major Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide remote technical oversight of the COMPASS program by planning, coaching, and training COMPASS manager and team and, as appropriate, implementing partners
- Support the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
- Access permitting, conduct technical monitoring visits to IRC as well as partner sites.
- Support country team with new proposal development and program design as needed.
- Together with TA and country team monitor new business development opportunities for the WPE program and contribute to proposal development;
- The incumbent will be managed by the Deputy Director for Programs in Pakistan, with technical support and oversight from the WPE Technical Advisor. The consultant will work remotely with the COMPASS field team in Pakistan with regular communication with the COMPASS Program Coordinator and COMPASS Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.
- It is envisaged that the incumbent would work part time, with a schedule to be agreed with IRC.
TIMELINE
The position will have an expected duration of three months. We would like the incumbent to start as soon as possible
Job Requirements:
- Advanced degree in social work, public health, international development or other related degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of overseas management and/or coordination experience in projects related to women’s rights, gender-based violence, gender equality and/or women’s empowerment
- Exemplary communication skills, including writing and analytical skills
- Proven sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Experience managing medium to large teams and working in tandem with local and international partners
- Experience with research projects and academic partners a plus
- Relevant working experience in the region preferred
- Fluency in English
SECURITY SITUATION / HOUSING
This position is based in New York with potential travel to Pakistan security permitting.
