Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Chief of Section, the Team Assistant provides administrative and logistical support in the development, organization and delivery of staff development programmes for staff and managers in the Secretariat and the Offices Away from Headquarters. 

Within delegated authority, the Team Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: 

• Organization and administration of various learning and development programmes offered to staff in the global UN Secretariat and locally in New York. 
• Maintenance of participant records and learning programme descriptions in our Learning Management System.
• Generate a variety of standard statistical and other reports, work orders, etc., using various databases.
• Assist in the maintenance of websites by scanning, converting and posting a variety of documents onto the site.
• Perform administrative duties, such as taking notes during meetings, drafting communication material as well as providing other support to the team. 

Overall, these functions support the work of LLODS, all of whose members work together as a team. The functions include a close back up and exchange with the other assistants in the section to allow business continuity in times of absence or change of responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of human resources management in a large international organisation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, be very organized and highly client oriented.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Passing the Administrative Assessment Support Test (ASAT) in English at Headquarters, ECA, ESCWA, UNOG, UNOV, ICTR, or ICTY or the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Service category in the United Nations Secretariat.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of experience in training, learning and development, human resources management, customer support or administrative services is required. Experience in working with a training/learning management system is highly desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
